In this study I used haircards to recreate a braided hairstyle.
All hair textures were first designed using Zbrush fibers, rendering depth maps and then tweaking those maps into Substance Designer.
The shape was designed using mainly tube brushes and tweaking them into braids in Zbrush. That was the first part before going to Blender to unwrap those tubed shapes before going for the tedious process of placing haircards.
The goal was to improve my hair modeling technique before going for a more serious character.
I can tell It has been not easy and far to be perfect I learned to avoid some issues that I had in previous projects with hair, but I still have many ways to improve.
